SANS 827 – The installation of pipes and appliances for use with natural gas

Focus of Course

This training sets out requirements for the installation of consumer piping, flueing, ventilation and appliance installations which are associated with the use or intended use of fuel gases for Natural Gas (NG) and Simulated Natural Gas (SNG). The requirements cover piping systems from the outlet of the consumer billing meter installation through to the consumer piping from the property boundary.  The domestic/commercial course is a pre-requisite for first time registration.

The course is based on the SANS 827: 2011 The installation of pipes and appliances for use with natural gas.

Attendance

This course is mandatory for gas practitioners working within the domestic and commercial natural gas environment and the course is a pre-requisite for registration as a gas practitioner.

Pre-requisite experience

Minimum of one (1) year for domestic and two (2) years’  for commercial pipeline gas installation and/or combustion experience in the domestic/commercial environment:

Course fee

R9,880.00 (excl VAT) per delegate which includes course notes, refreshments and lunch during the day and SAQCC registration fee of R1,850.00 for the first three years. Costs for any other meals, accommodation and travelling are not included in the fee. SAQCC Gas registration fee will increase as from 1 March 2018.

Businesses, outside Gauteng, requiring on site training, need to make provision for traveling and accommodation costs of the course facilitator.
