A Gas Practitioner derives authority being licenced by the SAQCC Gas who in turn derives its authority from the PER via its mandate to register gas practitioners.

An inspector derives its authority from the Department of Employment and Labour via the OHS Act.

The powers of authority invested via the respective institutions and legislations is vastly different in intent, authority and deed.

No person or gas practitioner has officially been appointed by the SAGA as an inspector, in whichever role responsibility or advisory position. This type of practice is deemed unethical and unathroised behaviour and SAGA cannot be held responsible for such deed or action by anyone posing as an inspector.
