What is the purpose of the Safe Gas Equipment Scheme (SGES) and which type of equipment needs to be registered?

The primary purpose of the SGES is to register all Natural Gas (CNG/LNG), Liquified Petroleum Gas and Biogas Industrial thermoprocessing equipment operating above 0.5 GJ/h or 10 Kg/h or 140 kW in the Commercial, Industrial and Specialised environments. 

Also covers equipment and or components within the Natural Gas (CNG/LNG) – Vehicles, Vehicle Fuelling Stations and Industrial environments for complying with local and international safety standards.  (PER, R734, 15July ’09 reference Regulation 5(3)).

Pressure vessels are excluded from the scheme for now.
